CBSE Excellence & Beyond

Academics

We follow a well-structured and balanced CBSE-aligned curriculum, enriched with hands-on learning experiences that promote deeper understanding and long-term retention.

Our classrooms are filled with experiments, manipulatives, discussions, collaborative activities, and student presentations, making learning engaging, interactive, and meaningful.

After each unit, a class test is conducted to help students reflect on their learning. The results also enable teachers to identify learning gaps and plan subsequent lessons more effectively.

Our Math Genie, Chemistry Genie, and Math Recipe books are popular among students. Dedicated periods are allocated for competitive mathematics examination preparation, and all students experience the Colours IMO in a relaxed group environment before attempting external Olympiad examinations.

In Science, students not only perform experiments in the laboratory but also present demonstrations in class on a rotational basis, fostering scientific thinking, curiosity, and confidence. Students in Grades 5–6 and 8–9 prepare for the prestigious Homi Bhabha Examination in pairs, making the learning process collaborative and enjoyable.

For English, learning extends well beyond the classroom through initiatives including Library in a Pouch, Speech & Drama (up to Grade 8), and reading programmes such as Battle of the Books, Wax Museum, Wisdom Month Reading, and the Science & Social Science-A-Thon. Students from Grade 5 onwards can prepare for and appear for the Cambridge English Qualifications, aspiring to B2 or C1 proficiency before completing Grade 10.

We offer Hindi, Marathi, and Sanskrit as second and third languages. German is introduced in Grades 1 and 2, with online German classes available from Grade 6 onwards.

The academic year is divided into two terms, with two Unit Tests and one Term Examination conducted in each term. From Grade 8 onwards, students take on greater academic independence through Chemistry Club activities, expanded lab use, research projects, presentations, and debates.

To support students’ overall wellbeing, short meditation sessions and affirmations are part of the daily routine, encouraging mindfulness, emotional balance, and healthy ways of managing stress.

Creativity in Every Form

Co-curriculum

A wide range of enrichment activities, led by experts, is thoughtfully designed to nurture every child’s talents, interests, and hobbies while supporting long-term academic success. At Colours, we believe in developing happy, balanced, and well-rounded individuals whose confidence and creativity extend beyond the classroom.

Music: Music is meditation. Every child learns music of their choice. Students in Grades 1–5 can choose Tabla, Vocal, or Keyboard, while Drums and Guitar are introduced from Grade 6 onwards.

Speech & Drama: Develops language proficiency, presentation skills, voice modulation, creativity, and self-confidence.

Dance: Encourages creative expression through movement up to Grade 6, with opportunities for stage performances in higher grades.

Art: Fosters creativity and original thinking while preparing students for the Elementary and Intermediate Art Examinations.

Chess: Compulsory up to Grade 7, chess develops metacognition, strategic thinking, concentration, memory, and problem-solving skills.

Workshops

Our CBSE school provides state-of-the-art learning spaces that inspire exploration, innovation, and hands-on learning. Students have access to three Science Labs, a Math Lab, an Electronics, Robotics & Carpentry Lab, a Computer Lab, and a spacious, modern library.

STEAM-based workshops such as baking, gardening, pottery, and product design for entrepreneurship are organised throughout the year to connect classroom learning with real-life experiences. Students begin learning electronics from the primary grades and gradually progress to designing innovative solutions for real-world challenges.

To nurture creativity and communication, students are encouraged to author and publish books at different grade levels. They also interact with authors, entrepreneurs, and industry experts through workshops, talks, and educational visits, gaining valuable insights into the worlds of literature, innovation, and enterprise.

Think Global, Act Local

Global Perspective

At Colours, we empower students to become informed, compassionate, and responsible global citizens.

Through entrepreneurship programmes, Design Thinking projects, debates, and group discussions, students develop innovative thinking, critical thinking, and the confidence to form and express their own opinions.

Well-being classes, NGO initiatives, Van Mahotsav, and plastic collection drives instil self-respect, empathy, environmental responsibility, and the belief that every individual can contribute to making the world a better place.

Our Orator Creator Programme and TED-style talks encourage students to think beyond boundaries and communicate ideas with confidence. The Social Science-a-thon, conducted every alternate year, enables students to explore global challenges, understand diverse socio-economic realities, and propose meaningful solutions through research, discussions, and debates.

To strengthen these values, the school has developed a Responsible Citizen Pledge and a "Care for Myself, Care for Others" awareness programme, nurturing children to become respectful, responsible, and mindful citizens.

Daily Physical Excellence

Sports

At Colours, our 360° Framework places equal emphasis on physical development and academic excellence. Regular sports help children build strength, endurance, coordination, and lifelong fitness while supporting healthy heart and lung function, maintaining an ideal BMI, and enhancing emotional well-being. Sports also teach resilience, teamwork, discipline, and the ability to handle both success and failure with confidence.

Students in Grades 1 and 2 experience a variety of sports, including Gymnastics, Football, Swimming, Taekwondo, and Dance. From Grade 3 onwards, students choose a primary sport—Football, Cricket, Basketball, or Gymnastics—which is conducted three times a week (Grades 3–7) and twice a week (Grades 8 and above). Overall, every child enjoys one sports period every day.

Available sports: Football, Gymnastics, Cricket, Basketball, Taekwondo, Swimming, Skating.
